Online dental help, Mouth guards and braces:  I would like to know if it is safe to wear a mouth guard when playing sports when you also have braces on.  I am not sure but I do play high school foot ball and I have to wear a mouth guard when I play but with my braces the mouth guard does fit tighter.   Should I be wearing it with my new braces or not?

I have a cracked back molar that I have been wanting to get fixed.  I went to my general dentist that I see on and off.  She told me even with my insurance it would cost me $1900.00 because I need a root canal and a crown done.
