More the 2000 patients waited in line for hours at the Charlotte Convention Center, NCDS and volunteers began delivering care at 6 am. August. 19th and wrapped up at 6 pm. August. 20th, working 36 straight hours. More than $1 million in free dental care was able to be provided.

About 1,500 volunteers—dentists, hygienists, assistants, laboratory technicians and individuals from the community—donated more than $1.6 million in free dental care and provided valuable support services. Volunteers treated 2,179 patients during the event, and provided 11,275 total procedures between 5 am and 5 pm. both days.

Something to Smile About, was held in conjunction with the TDA’s Music City Dental Conference. Sponsored by Delta Dental of Tennessee, the concert raised $67,000 for patient care. IFDC is a nonprofit dental clinic that provided more than $2.5 million in comprehensive and emergency dental services during 2010-11 and has more than 300 clinical volunteers.
