Is Going to the Dentist Twice a year Enough – Online Dental Insurance

Saturday, Oct. 29th 2022 6:11 AM

Around 50 years ago or so American did not take the best proper care of their teeth. There were no guidelines set forth on how often one should see a dentist.  In fact at that time many dentist were about fixing dental problems rather then preventing them.

Dental and health care organizations tried to set standards for preventive dental care.  Not having any guidelines or much evidence to go by they made the best guess or judgment call they could at the time. Which was that people should see the dentist twice a year for check up and cleanings.  Over time this became the rule of thumb. For the many people seeing a dentist twice a year is still acceptable.

Online Dental Insurance – Dental Hazard of Drinking Coffee and Tea

Sunday, Oct. 23rd 2022 6:25 AM

Although one of America’s favorite morning and afternoon beverages may be coffee and tea, they have compounds called tannins, which can cause unsightly stains and discoloring of your teeth.

Therefore to avoid staining your teeth try and limited the amount of coffee and tea drinking throughout the day. If you are going to be drinking coffee and tea do so with a straw to limited contact with your teeth. Avoid slowly drinking these types of drinks, it can be fun to hang out at the local coffee house and babying the one cup of coffee during your hour or more stay but it is not so fun for your teeth.

Some parents struggle to get their children to a dentist because of the cost of dental care and the cost of losing money due to having to take time off of work.

Online Dental Insurance – Senior Oral and Dental Care and Potential Health Issues

Friday, Oct. 14th 2022 9:47 AM

Many people know that a lack of attention to their oral health can undoubtedly lead to problems focused on their mouth and teeth However fewer people know that poor oral health care can also have ramifications for more widespread disease throughout their body.

Having good oral healthy care helps to prevent tooth decay, tooth loss, gum disease, heart disease, diabetes, pneumonia, and oral cancer. However, when oral hygiene is neglected, it is not only the health of the teeth and gums that suffer.

For instance, the risk of getting pneumonia increases with poor oral hygiene. Since air must pass through the mouth to get to the lungs, a more significant amount of bacteria in the mouth increases the odds that those bacteria enter the lungs and cause an infection. Regular brushing and flossing can help reduce the number of bacteria in the mouth and thus reduce the chances that harmful bacteria enter the lungs and cause disease.
