I not sure I really see the benefits of buying dental insurance. I have a dentist that I have been going to since I was a kid. There is no way I am changing providers. In the past the dental insurance I had with me parents let me go to him.
When I got drop I was paying for my dental services out of pocket which was costing me about $350.00 for the standard cleaning, X-rays and office visits twice a year. I started looking into dental insurance and found out for what I seen are costing any where from 30 on up a month. This save me not money and in some cases cost me more. Why buy dental insurance?
Dental, Insurance Indemnity Plans
Jun. 4th 2010
I am up for open enrollment for my health and dental insurance with my job. So I have to pick the plans I want. I know what I am picking for the health but under the dental I have a choice between a HMO and an Indemnity dental plan.
Does anyone have experience with dental indemnity plans? Off hand I and leaning towards the Indemnity plan because it says I can pick any dentist I want to. With the HMO I have to choose a dentist in the network. However the indemnity has a 1000 max limit were the HMO does not.
I am wondering how hard is it having to file dental claims? I hear that filing claims can be a hassle because the insurance companies do not pay out like the plan says they will. Is that true? Although I am not paying for the dental plan itself which one is worth getting?
