Dental Insurance claim process.

So about a month ago I had a deep cleaning and a wisdom tooth removed. At the time I did not have any dental insurance so I had to pay for it myself which cost me $1485.00. I am wondering if I buy a Blue Cross dental plan that offer a $1500.00 year max limit, would I be able to submit the claim to them for the $1485.00 to get my money back and then cancel the Blue Cross plan? My dentist is very inexpensive on X-rays and regular cleaning so I do not see the point in keeping the dental plan after I get back my $1485.00.
