I have two dental insurance plans, can I pick the dental plan I want to use
Both my husband and I get dental insurance though our jobs. We each have each other on our plans, therefore giving us both two dental insurance plans. Which I though would be cool since our dentist is a network provider of both plans.
On my dental insurance plan it said I have to pay 335.00 for a porcine with metal crown but on my husband plan we only have to pay 275.00 for the same crown. Naturally in this case I want to use my husband plan since the crown would cost me less. My dentist is saying I have to use my plan at 335.00 even though he takes both and I am on both.
I told him I want to use the other plan and he is saying since he started with my plan when I had a filling done, he has to stay with my plan for the treatment advise to me. This seems like a lie to me. I am not asking to use both plans for the same treatment I am only wanting to use whatever plan is the best for the services I am need. What is the problem with that he take both plans… I my dentist just trying to charge me the higher rate regardless of what I have?
