It is extremely important that you read the list of benefits provided by the dental insurance provider and be sure you are getting a dental insurance plan if that is what you wanted to purchase.
A reminder discount dental plans are not dental insurance plans. Online Dental Insurance – Costly Dental Work Needed
Sunday, Jun. 19th 2022 6:51 AM
Question: I recently bought dental insurance, I had current dental issues that I wanted to take care of, so I went to the dentist and had my free check up, X-rays and cleaning, minus my $50.00 deductible.
I was told that I need over $5000.00 worth of dental work but that my policy as a max of $2000.00. The dental office staff said that I was lucky that I did not have waiting periods but that a course I will be going over my max limit if I was to get the dental work done. The dental office does not offer a in house payment plan option. Although I have one credit card I can not afford to put more money on it because making the monthly payments on it is all ready really hard for me to do.
I was happy thinking I could finally have my needed dental work done now that I have dental insurance only to be let down. I am not sure what I can do at this point. The dentist told me if I continue to delay treatment my teeth will only get worse causing not only more pain but more dental expense. Please I am looking for some advise on how I can get my dental work done.
Reply: Your problem is not too uncommon. However there is a easy way to deal with it. Have the dentist work with you and your plan. Do only what is needed the most keeping it under the max limit. Then when your policy rolls over you can do the next needed dental service.
You do not have to have $5000.00 worth of dental work done in one day spread it out over the course of one or two years whatever you can afford. At least this way you will be able to get some dental work done. After all you been waiting this long doing nothing.. What does it matter if it take a little time to get all your teeth fixed when the point is at least you are getting them fixed.
Another option: On this website depending on what state you are in we do provide a Delta Dental PPO plan that has a $3000.00 max limit with no waiting periods but you would want to compare it’s first year benefits to what you currently have to see if it worth making the change for a higher max limitation.
