My sister tells me I need to at least get dental insurance that will help with preventive and basic dental care. I just not sure what is the best plan to get and will getting dental insurance really help me with the cost of fixing my teeth?

They typically do not have waiting periods for dental care services provide under the plan and since most HMO plans schedule the cost of the different dental care services you are able to budget out what you have done as you can afford the care.
PPO’s plans are more costly then HMO’s, but you are able to chose a dentist in the plan network or go outside their dental providers to your own dentist. These plans will generally have waiting periods for basic and major dental care services those plan that don’t have waiting periods tend to cost more. So depending on your own needs will depend on what dental plan type is best for you.
