Online Dental Insurance, Primary care medical setting is gaining popularity as a place to provide preventive dental services.
Tuesday, Jun. 6th 2017 6:32 AM
Young children from low-income families experience high levels of tooth decay and face many barriers to getting dental treatment and preventive services. However, because these children usually visit their pediatrician or other primary care provider far more frequently than a dentist, the primary care medical setting is gaining popularity as a place to provide preventive dental services. Currently, physicians in more than 400 pediatric primary care offices in North Carolina (NC) have been trained to screen for tooth decay, so that referrals for those in need can be made to dentists. This effort is part of a preventive dental program known as “Into the Mouths of Babes”
Online Dental Insurance, Bad Credit But Need Dental Care
Sunday, Jun. 4th 2017 6:25 AM
I have to have some dental work done on my teeth and I do not have any extra money. I tried to get a loan at the dental office but was told my credit was no go so I could not get the help I needed. I have a really bad toothache and would be happy just to fix that one tooth so I can stop being in pain. Where can I go to get help? I do not have a job so money is really hard for me to scrap up. Do you need good credit to get dental insurance help?
Reply: No, dental insurance is not based off your credit. However you would need to be able to pay for it to keep it current. I would suggest one of our lower cost HMO insurance plans most which start out at $7.95 a month for an individual. You then will be able to get free to low cost preventive dental care such as your check ups, x-rays, and cleanings. However there will still be some cost in fixing your tooth that is hurting you without knowing what is needed cost can very, yet it will still be much more affordable then not having insurance in place.
Online Dental Insurance, Teach by Doing

Do as I say and not what I do, does not work well with visiting the dentist. Children more likely to visit the dentist if their parents do too. That whether or not children receive regular dental care is strongly associated with their parents’ history of seeking dental care themselves. This according to the report that appear in the journal Pediatrics. Parents who do not see a dentist themselves have children which are much less likely to see the dentist. The study found that the children of parents who have put off their own dental care for financial reasons are more likely to have their care deferred due to cost as well. That oral health should focus on the whole family.

Online Dental Insurance, Dental Insurance Cancelled for Non-payment
Wednesday, May. 24th 2017 6:37 AM
My dental insurance just cancelled for non payment, and now I have a toothache. So for the last three years I had dental insurance that I was paying $35.00 a month for. All I ever got done during that time was X-rays and cleaning. So when it came time for me to renew it I felt it was just a big waste of money.
Three months latter my tooth is now hurting me. The dental insurance will not just re-instate my policy with out having me have the stupid waiting periods again. Which by the way I feel is total unfair. The three years I had it I never did anything to get my money worth out of the plan and now they are not cutting me any slack. What can I do? I know something is wrong if my tooth is hurting me on and off though out the day like it is doing.
Reply: Many insurance company will not reinstate the pay for non-payment that is more then just 30 days or one month. I can understand you being upset but it be like cancelling your auto insurance because you have not gotten in to and accident in the past three years and now feel it is a waist of money. Then get into an accident and being mad that the insurance company is not paying for your claim.
However not all hope is gone. My suggestion would be to look into either getting an HMO dental insurance plan as they typically do not have waiting periods or a dental discount plan which also do not have waiting periods. These are both low cost dental insurance and plan options but you will need to go to a plan provider.

Online Dental Insurance, Toothache and Knowing When to See a Dentist
Saturday, May. 20th 2017 6:14 AM
Many people put off seeing a dentist even when they have a toothache using at home remedies thinking that is enough if the pain goes away. However, If the toothache is caused by a major infection or tooth decay, it will not just go away on its own. You should see a dentist if you experience the following symptoms along with the toothache:
* A fever and chills. This could be a sign that the infection is serious and the symptoms will get worse.
* Discharge. Again, you do not want to risk letting a bad infection get worse.
* Pain that grows worse and will not go away, even after taking medication. You could have a cavity that gets worse after every meal.
* You have trouble swallowing or breathing, which may be caused by an abscess.

Keep in mind if you have pain it is telling you that something is wrong. Just getting rid of the pain with aspirin and or ibuprofen is not fixing the reason why it hurting in the first place. Make a dental appointment so that your tooth can be fixed and to prevent larger dental and medical needs.

Dental Insurance, How to Deal With Plan Waiting Periods
Tuesday, May. 16th 2017 6:53 AM
I just got dental insurance though my job but I found out that I have waiting period for everything except a dental cleaning. What do I do if I need more then just a cleaning? I have not been to the dentist is a year so it is possible. Then what does my dental insurance do for me? I do not get why I have any waiting periods. Seems stupid that I can not have my dental work done.
Reply: It is very common for PPO to have waiting periods. Sometimes in group plans that you get from work they can be waved if the plan has been with the company for a long period of time.
It is up to you to read and understand the plan terms. Waiting periods are then so that the insurance company will have premium on the books to pay for claims made. That is the short reason for waiting periods at least.
If you are currently being effected by the plans waiting periods you may want to looking into buying a dental HMO insurance plan on your own in the mean time. HMO dental insurance plans are low cost affordable plans that typically do not have waiting periods. Review our HMO insurance options just entering your zip code in the quote box provided above.

Information About Dental Insurance
Dental insurance plans usually break benefits into three categories: basic procedures, preventative care, and restorative care. Dental insurance quotes include information on any deductible, which could affect the overall costs of the plan. Dental insurance coverage includes dental and insurance terms that are not always clear to everyone. While at least a part of the purpose of dental insurance coverage is to help protect us from the expenses associated with surprise events (like breaking a tooth while eating, or even rebuilding a person’s mouth after a serious accident), comparatively speaking the vast majority of dental needs a person will experience throughout their lifetime will be non-catastrophic and relatively low in cost.
* The primary goal of the typical dental plan is to insure that the covered individual receives regular preventive dental care (checkups, dental cleanings, x-rays, dental sealants, fluoride).
* Most dental insurance plans are set up so to encourage their covered individuals to seek regular preventive dental care (checkups, dental cleanings, x-rays, dental sealants, fluoride).
While dental insurers are no doubt interested in the general well being of the individuals for which they provide coverage, lower dental expenses for their members also translate into greater profits for them. Root canals can cost a fortune and dental insurance can help reduce how much you pay. This plan has several advantages over traditional dental insurance plans, namely, there are no exclusions for pre-existing conditions. Our dental web site is very clear if you are selecting a dental insurance plan or a dental discount plan.
