District of Columbia Family dental plans

I live in DC and dental cost are just getting crazy here. My husband and I have two boys and they are both under the age of eight so dental care for our family is very important.
We do not have any current dental insurance but with my son’s dental billing coming back at $259.56 my husband is starting to see the light about buying some. Not having dental insurance before I really do not know what way is the best to go getting a low cost dental plan or buy a high cost dental insurance. Advise for both would be great in helping me pick the best plan for us.
