HMO Dental Insurance VS Dental Discount plans.
Question: HMO Dental Insurance VS Dental Discount plans. I live in Los Angeles, CA, and I have been looking for an excellent low-cost dental plan that I can use for my dental services. I do not need major dental work but may need a filling.
The lower-cost plans are either a dental HMO insurance plan or a Dental Discount plan. On either plan, you have to stay within the plan network of the provider, and it seems that services are listed on a schedule. What is the difference between the two types of dental plans that I am not seeing? Which is better to get?
Reply: A dental discount plan is not insurance; you receive discounted prices for all dental services rendered by a plan provider. In contrast, dental HMO plans are insurance. They generally offer better service costs and are the more budget-friendly option. One is not better than the other. It is just what works better for you after reviewing each option.
