Dental insurance for veneers

Hi I live in Hoboken New Jersey. I have very dark teeth. My dentist says that do to to much fluoride in the tap water when I was young it has over time just darken my teeth. The teeth are find and I have no cavities.
However, I do not like that they look so dark. I have tried to use whiten strips that really do not help much at all. I also had my teeth whiten by the dentist once. My teeth looked much better but did not stay that way for too long.
I was thinking that I would like to get veneers on at least the front teeth. So that my smile would look much better. Has anyone had veneers and what did they think about them. Are veneers covered under dental insurance? Do you think they are worth having? Any information really would be good. Thanks ahead of time.
