Individual dental insurance for New York

I am 19 and just got drop from my parents dental policy because I am not currently a full time student. So I have been trying to find dental insurance like I had when I was on my parents policy. I called Delta Dental that my parents had to be told that it is a group plan so I could not just buy one for me.
I also caled two other dental insurance companies to be told preaty much the same thing that they only sell group dental. I have come across some dental discount plans that will sell to me but I really want to be able to have dental insurance so I can keep my same dentist that I have been seeing since I was nine. What is out there for me?
