Online dental care, I bit my tongue really bad

Online dental care, I bit my tongue really bad: I just came back from the dentist today after having a filling put in. My dentist really numbed my mouth out. Although he told me not to eat until the numbing went away in a few hours, I was really hungry and eat anyway.
I tried to be very care full but I bit right into my tongue anyway. Since my mouth is still numbed out it really does not hurt much right now but it is bleeding. I am not sure if I have to go back to the dentist or will the bleeding stop after a while. What should I do I think I bit it pretty bad.
